Carrot cake (also known as passion cake) is a cake containing carrots mixed into the batter. Most modern carrot cake recipes have a white cream cheese frosting. Sometimes nuts, such as walnuts or pecans, are added to the cake batter, as well as spices, such as cinnamon, ginger and ground allspice. Fruits such as pineapple, sultanas and shredded coconut can also be used to add a natural sweetness.

Ingredients: Sugar, wheat flour, whey powder, raising starch E450i, E500I; cinnamon, salt, emulsifier E481 thickening agent E415 and flavouring. May contain traces of wheat, gluten and milk.

Method of preparation: Mix 500 grams of preparation with 80 grams of water, 3 eggs (150g) 140 grams of vegetable oil 150ml and 150 grams of grated carrot. Add chopped walnuts to taste. Mix the dough slowly for 5 minutes and pour it into a baking tin. The baking tin has to be 20 cm in diameter or 22 if it is square. Bake at 175 degrees for 50/60 minutes.
